  • The deposit required is the rate quoted in the Wedding Brochure. We require that the deposit is paid in full to secure your date. If the deposit is not paid, the date will be made available for others to book. The balance of other payments (corkage etc.) is to be paid in full no later than one month before your wedding.

  • The rate includes use of the barns and courtyard exclusively, access to the Horseshoe Bar, staff to cover the wedding, wooden benches, wood burning stove & tables which seats 6 people each. The rest of it is up to you – hiring crockery, cutlery, glassware and any extras you need for the big day. We have staff on the day to serve your guests and arrange the tables in the barn. Decorating etc. is up to you!

  • We do not provide catering for weddings. Instead we have a prep space in the back barn (separate to the main dining / seating area) for caterers to come in and set up on the day to provide food and sustenance. The wedding couple must source and book the catering provider; and incur the charges relating to the provision of food (ingredients, tableware, serveware etc.). All suppliers and caterers must have prior approval from Pot Duggans before they are allowed on site to cater for weddings.

  • Yes, our Courtyard is covered. We also have our Riveryard which is not covered.

  • Of course! Depending on availability we would be delighted to welcome you and your guests back to Pot Duggans the following day. Just like your wedding day, the day 2 festivities will be over to you to source catering etc.

  • Deposits are non-refundable if made within 6 months of the date booked.

  • We know it’s important to include children in wedding celebrations, so they are welcome to join in the festivities until 9pm, after which they must be off the premises. This is due to alcohol licensing laws.

  • We must stop serving alcohol at 11.30pm Monday to Thursday, 12.30am on Friday and Saturday and 11pm on Sunday. We ask that all guests vacate the property (quietly!) no later than one hour after the bar closes.

  • We currently can only host humanist ceremonies, we are not registered to host civil or religious ceremonies.

  • We provide 2 interconnected barns which are set up with wooden benches and tables, wood burning stoves and courtyard bathrooms. Use of the courtyard is included in the set up which has more seating and an outdoor area. We will provide sufficient staff for the duration of the reception. We do not provide any decoration for the venue.

  • We allow simple decorations that will not cause any damage to the property, so that means no nails, screws, glue or sellotape can be used. You’re welcome to provide linens and tableware to decorate the benches, along with flowers, balloons etc. We cannot allow confetti or sparklers, and candles may be used in moderation. There is a limited number of power sockets in the barns which you may use, however for fairy lights we prefer that you use ones that are battery operated. You are welcome to decorate the space the day before as long as the venue is not in use or booked with another wedding. In this instance, we can allow access from early on the day of the wedding to decorate. We ask that all decorations are removed by 11am the following day.

  • Pot Duggans’ is a small pub in a rural town which means we have a lot of neighbours! For that reason, the only outside music we can allow is low-level live acoustic music or a playlist which is played over our speaker system via phone, tablet or laptop. Indoors in the barns, we can hold a small 2-3 piece band or DJ, and music can be played until 11pm after which there is an option to turn the music down or move inside to the main bar. The wedding couple is responsible for sourcing and booking any entertainment required
