Pot Duggans in Ennistymon is well-known for hosting a mix of alternative, folk, and electronic acts. Below are some of the notable bands and DJs that have played there in the past, categorized by genre and event series.

Pot Duggans frequently hosts “Barn” gigs and intimate sessions featuring rising Irish indie and folk acts.

Festivals & Event Series
Pot Duggans is often a hub for festival spin-offs and seasonal series:

  • Beatyard West: A spin-off of the Dublin festival, which brought acts like Decartet and NewDad to the venue.

  • Cois Abhann: A recurring series (most recently late 2025) featuring acts like Seamas Hyland, Ultan O’Brien, Throwing Shapes, and Laura Duff.

  • Sunday Folk Sessions: Regular traditional and folk sessions often featuring local musicians like Fiddler Trish O’Dea & Bart 

Festivals & Event Series

The “Sunday Sessions” at Pot Duggans are legendary in the Irish food scene because they aren’t just standard guest slots—they are one-off, “convivial” dinners where some of the biggest names in Irish gastronomy cook a menu of their own design, often using a single pot (a nod to the venue’s name).


The chefs they host are typically a mix of Michelin-star veterans, foraging experts, and modern innovators. Here are the notable chefs who have taken over the barns:NewDad (Galway indie-rock band played there during the Beatyard series)

  • Ross Lewis: The founder of the Michelin-starred Chapter One in Dublin.

  • Jess Murphy: The force behind Kai in Galway (and a major advocate for local produce).

  • Eric Matthews: Formerly the Head Chef of Chapter One and a well-known face from RTÉ’s Battle of the Food Trucks.

  • Kevin Burke: From Library Street (Dublin), previously the head chef of the Michelin-starred The Ninth in London.

  • Christine Walsh: From Éan (Galway), whose CV includes Noma (Copenhagen) and Benu (San Francisco).

  • Aisling Moore: The chef/owner of Goldie in Cork, famous for her “whole catch” approach to sustainable seafood.

  • Keith Coleman: Formerly of Fumbally Stables and Slane Castle, known for his hyper-seasonal and soulful cooking.

  • Niamh Fox: A key figure in the Irish food scene who was instrumental in the early success of Pot Duggans’ own kitchen.

  • Bart Pawlukojc & Nicole Server-Pawlukojc: The husband-and-wife duo behind Arán Bakery & Bistro in Kilkenny (both ex-Noma).

  • Sham Hanifa: The chef behind The Cottage in Carrick-on-Shannon, known for blending Irish ingredients with Malaysian flavours.

Internal & Residency Chefs

  • Ashley Gribbens: A Ballymaloe alumna and former head chef at Ottolenghi (Islington), who brought a distinct Middle Eastern vibe to the Pot Duggans kitchen during her time there.

  • Pedro Ferraz: Often leads the “Brewcook” events, blending Brazilian and Italian influences with Irish craft beer pairings.
